Seal coating asphalt driveways is the process of applying a liquid product over an existing asphalt pavement in a manner that seals the surface. Sealers can provide excellent adhesion, flexibility and durability. Sealers protect and renew old, oxidized pavement and provide a new black surface to existing pavements, which helps to melt snow and ice faster. The sealer also acts as protective barrier, sealing away harmful elements such as water, oil and sun rays from penetrating the surface that causes cracking and asphalt driveway failures.
Osaz Sealing uses a sealer that is asphalt-specific, this a specially formulated cutback produced by McAsphalt Industries. The application is done by using a gas power pressure machine that spays the oil-based sealant onto the asphalt driveway. The amount of application is different in each project based on traffic and frequency of service, so a proper assessment is done before a quotation is given.
Trimming all grass edges on both sides of the driveway and removing all weeds from their roots on the driveway.
Brushing and power blowing all heavy dirt, rocks, sand, leaves and weeds off the surface of the driveway until thoroughly cleaned.
Using a high adhesive tape to protect areas such as interlocking, concrete, stones and wood in order to prevent any overspray to those substances.
If necessary, complete any asphalt repair to the driveway, which can include crack filling, pothole repair, garage ramps, oil spot repair and asphalt patching.
Sealant application is pressure sprayed heavily and evenly across the whole asphalt driveway.
